I am proud and so excited to be one of the artists invited to create works of art inspired by the Children’s Forest on Cortes Island, BC. The Forest Trust has been formed to purchase approximately 600 acres of ecologically significant lands there and place them in trust to the children of Cortes, in perpetuity.

Artists of all disciplines who are passionate about our environment will be involved. Artist Robert Bateman, singer Ann Mortifee and musician Paul Horn are participating. The sale of our work will help raise funds necessary to publish “Forest Alphabet: Artistic Visions of a Forest” featuring original artwork and voices of 33 bright-eyed and beautiful children who are speaking out for their rainforest.

The Artist’s Journey Art Auction will be held on Friday, November 23 at Saltspring’s Artspring Center. This will be a great evening of fun, for a cause that is dear to my heart! You can view the artwork online at: www.corteschildrensforest.org (detail above: of my donated painting)
